Congratulations to our fourth weekly winner, Andrew Burdett, nominated by Vince B!
It is a pleasure to nominate Andrew Burdett. For many years Andrew has selflessly volunteered his time. He not only serves the public at large but helps anyone he comes across. Andrew has always been devoted to volunteering. He dedicates his time as a Peterborough Police Auxiliary, to the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics and serves on the board of directors for the Kawartha Food Share. Whenever there’s a cause, you can always count on Andrew. Whether he is helping a friend or his community, Andrew is always putting the needs of others above his own. It’s people like Andrew that help make a difference!
Congratulations to our third weekly winner, Kathy Wallace, nominated by Deb A!
“Kathy is amazing. She is a statistical genius who enjoys working with databases and spreadsheets. We are so fortunate to have her volunteer with the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation once a week. In the past few years, Kathy created a new donor database and improved the functionality of program tracking spreadsheets. Now she currently assists with data collection for donor tracking reports. Through raw data and numbers, Kathy helps us tell meaningful impact stories of the many ways the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation is able to assist our community’s most vulnerable children and youth, especially this past year with the addition of our emergency Covid 19 supports. Thank you Kathy for everything you do to assist local at-risk children in our community!”
Congratulations to our second weekly winner, Rosemary Powers, nominated by Ashley D!
“Rose is a force in this community, she is always donating her time and energy to many causes whether it be The Kawartha Food Share, The Downs Syndrome Society, organizing “drive-by honkings” for the hospital and LTC homes, or all her various sports endeavors, especially Sport A Rainbow. Rose always fights for the little people, the down and out, the marginalized and anyone who may be in need of a hand. Rose devotes so much of her time to Sport A Rainbow and promoting inclusion for all within sports. I have personally played baseball with her for a charitable event and she is always so outgoing, friendly, hilarious, energetic and gives great and inspiring speeches. Rose is always involved in special events and gives 110% every time. Nobody is more deserving of this award than Rose, and I know she will be pleased that $200 is going to a charity of her choice…”
Congratulations to our first weekly winner, Amber Webber, nominated by Wayne K!
“The person I volunteer is a nurse who has been working during the pandemic. She also has been a mentor to a young girl for Big Sisters for almost two years now in Peterborough. Since she has moved to this community she has been gardening to make it better, donating to the local food banks and volunteering for the Salvation Army kettle drive at Christmas as well as wrapping gifts for charity during the holidays.”
