Ride for Rebound 2022

Rebound Child & Youth Services Northumberland’s (Rebound) Ride for Rebound is back, in support of children and youth mental health. In response to the critical need for swift access to mental health support, Chief Paul VandeGraaf and other ambitious cyclists will ride 100km to raise awareness and much-needed funding.

This initiative brings together avid community cyclists to experience the beautiful rolling hills of Northumberland County with a 100km route across numerous communities. The Ride was developed in partnership with Rebound by Cobourg Police Chief Paul VandeGraaf to call attention to the need for timely, quality mental health support for children and youth across the County.

Rebound and Cobourg Police Service (CPS) have enjoyed a long-standing collaborative partnership based on the mutual priority of building the mental and emotional wellness of children and youth. These various initiatives have provided quality holistic programming with a strong community focus, designed to emphasize the ripple effect that early intervention can have on the lives of young people.

Rebound’s early intervention brings a stabilizing and positive impact to the lives of children, youth, and families who live in Northumberland County. Through mental health services, literacy and learning support, youth justice diversion, counselling, mentorship, parenting programs, and a multitude of community partnerships, Rebound is creating a brighter future for its clients. These positive shifts establish prolonged growth and the opportunity for children, youth, and families in Northumberland to reach their full potential.

“Programs such as our academic support, mental health services, skills-building workshops, and recreational programs all rely on the generosity of community members,” says Carol Beauchamp, Executive Director of Rebound. “Ride for Rebound is an opportunity to raise awareness and funds that directly support the wellbeing of children and youth throughout Northumberland County.”

“Rebound understands the positive impact that early intervention can have on a child’s life,” says Chief Paul VandeGraaf, Cobourg Police Service. “I have witnessed how access to Rebound’s programs and services build resilient youth. On May 28th, again, I look forward to riding across Northumberland County, raising awareness and funds to support Rebound. I hope everyone will join me by riding, donating, or sponsoring.”
