THE GREAT DANE ROUND UP
Event Details: Danes in Distress is a registered, non-profit charitable corporation that rescues unwanted, neglected or abused Great Danes and places them into responsible, loving and permanent homes.
Staffing of our organization is comprised entirely of caring, committed volunteers. Our only sources of income are fund-raisers and donations.
We have been in operation since 1956 and re-homed in excess of 6,500 Great Danes since our inception. We are the largest and longest-running Great Dane rescue group in Canada.
We are hosting the first annual Eastern Ontario “Great Dane Roundup” at the Norwood Fairgrounds on September 23, 2018.
All monies raised are used for the care and vetting of incoming Danes, some of which have had a rough start to life in less than desirable surroundings – or were scheduled for euthanasia prior to coming into rescue.
