June 27 marks Canadian Multiculturalism Day. It is a day to celebrate the contributions of the diverse cultures that make up our home on Turtle Island, Canada and was first commemorated in 2003.
From June 1 to 30, the New Canadians Centre will be organizing the third Canadian Multicultural Festival in Nogojiwanong-Peterborough and Northumberland. In 2023-2024, the NCC supported over 2000 newcomers hailing from over 100 countries and speaking more than 70 different languages. Each of them brings unique customs, music, dance, food, sports, and stories contributing to a vibrant community.
Join the launch of Canadian Multicultural Festival 2024 on Wednesday June 19th at 4:30p.m. at Millennium Park in Peterborough with “Launch Day – Bollywood Dance Party & Marketplace.”
