Scottish Tea

Hutchison House Museum is working hard, preparing the museum to re-open to the public this summer. Starting July 3rd until September 4th, 2021 Hutchison House Museum will be open to the public on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday afternoons. Sittings are a 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm.

Scottish Tea, served on the terrace in the period garden, includes fresh baked scones, preserves, whipped cream, oatcakes, and tea, lemonade, or iced tea. Scottish Tea is $10 for adults, $5 for children (ages 6-10), children ages 5 and under are free. There is a max of 4 people per table for the Scottish Teas.

All visitors will be required to register and pay in advance. Visitors will be required to self-screen before visiting the museum as well as wear a mask when not seated at a table. Hand sanitizer will be available for guests when they arrive at the museum, as well as when they exit. All visitors will enter through the north accessible entrance and exit by the pathway to the east of the museum.

Museum staff has increased daily cleaning protocols as well as wearing appropriate personal protective equipment when preparing food for the Scottish Teas as well as general interactions with the public.

At this time the Bookshop will remain closed for browsing, however books, jam, Scottish Tea in a bag and Day Camp kits can be purchased by phone and picked up at the museum. As well there will NOT be any tours of the interior of the building until the province enters phase 3 of its reopening plan. Please note that there will be no parking on Bethune Street north of Brock Street due to ongoing construction.
